Finally understand English body language!

Body language is a very important part of communication. In Asian cultures there is a big focus on the eyes when listening to someone who is speaking…while Americans pay attention to the entire face, especially the mouth, when listening.

When you are learning to speak English it is important to develop an understanding of body language. When an English speaker shrugs their shoulders (lifts them toward the ears) it can mean they are confused or that they are not interested in what you are saying. Very different meanings!

Another example is crossing the arms across the chest. This can mean the person is feeling ‘closed’ to you and the topic of conversation or that they are not warm enough!

Award-winning Englishlink is the only online English school that teaches body language. Your Englishlink teacher is always demonstrating body language while speaking and teaching…another great benefit of studying English with us from anywhere in the world!
