Software needed
- What internet browser can I use?
-

Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 6 and higher.
Download Internet Explorer
Apple Safari for Macintosh or PC, version 3 and higher.
Download Safari 3 - What programs do I need?
- Your browser must have the following programs installed:
(don't worry too much as they are usually installed on your machine. They will also 'know' if they need to update themselves).
(for reading the Worksheets)
(needed by Englishlink systems)
(play movies and sounds) - What other equipment do I need?
- - Broadband Connection - dialup connection will be too slow .
- A printer for printing worksheets and other materials.
- Headphones or speakers to listen to your teachers. - I do not have a printer.
- That is OK. Instead, you can save the worksheets and open them when you need to look at them. It is better to print them because you practice your writing and you can use them to review and study for the test.
- The videos do not load.
- If the box is grey, you do not have Flash Player on your computer. You must download it. Click here for free download. If the box is black and there is a number on the screen (example: 24%) the video is working.
- The videos are slow to load.
- You need good broadband Internet service. If you are on dial up, we suggest you do not use Englishlink. Some videos are big, some are small. Please be patient.
- The video sound is not working.
- Some versions of flash cause problems with all flash movies (not only our movies). Normally updating to the latest player fixes the problem. If not then please email us for directions.
- I could not see the Worksheets in the Free Lesson.
- Please check that you have Adobe Reader installed. If not, please click here to download it for free. Also, if you have a pop-up blocker in your browser, you MUST TURN IT OFF before you start.
About buying lessons
- How long does a lesson take?
- About 1 hour. If you stop in the middle, the place you stop will be 'bookmarked' and you start in the same place you finished when you login again.
- How many times can I do a lesson?
- 2 times.
- How much time do I have to do the Unit?
- 6 months.
- What happens after I pass the Unit test?
- When we receive the test score, we put you in the next Unit. Once you are moved to the new Unit, the lessons you did are no longer available. You will receive an email with your new Unit, and then you pay for it like you did the first time.
- What if I fail the test?
- If you do not get 60% on the Unit test, you can do it again. Before you re-do the test, please review your notes and do a few lessons again if you need to.
- How do I ask the teacher a question after my lesson?
- You can email the teacher.
About the lessons
- I want a free unit to help me make a decision.
- The free trial lesson is a good example of the lessons. This should be enough to help you make a decision.
- I cannot use PayPal in my country.
- That is OK. There are other ways to pay for a Unit. You can use your credit card or send money from your bank to our bank. Please email us for help to do this.
- I do not have a credit card.
- That is OK. There are other ways to pay for a Unit. You can use PayPal or send money from your bank to our bank. Please email us for help to do this. Not all countries can use PayPal, or have a small amount of support. For example, Saudi Arabia cannot use PayPal at all, but the Philippines can use PayPal only for credit card payment.
- What are Pre-Paid Cards?
- These are like phone cards. They have a code on the back that you use in the payment section. You can buy these from our partners, for the normal price.
- What if I want a refund?
- As we say in the Terms & Conditions, which you agree to when you do the Placement Test, the fee is non-refundable. However, we do offer a 100% money back guarantee if you feel you have not improved after 1 Unit.
- What if I think I am in the wrong level?
- We believe the test measures your skills well. If you think your level is either too high or too low, please try 2 or 3 lessons to be sure. If after this you still think you are in the wrong level, please email us. You will not receive a refund, but we might change your level.
