Arif from the UAE: In this lessons (Lesson 8) we learned that we use were instead of was in the 2nd conditional, but you used was in the speaking practice for intonation. Why is this?
Answer: Good observation, Arif! In one of the clips in Lesson 8, I said that it is OK to use either was or were in the second conditional.
In the 2nd conditional, we can use were instead of was after 'I', 'she', 'he' and 'it'.
The word can indicates you have a choice :)
They are both correct - were just sounds a little more formal in my opinion.
